There are the obvious reasons that I had really been looking forward to this wedding…. like, I don’t know… that it was in BC and I absolutely love BC. I love driving through the mountains, the extra fresh air, going on the ferry, and just the experience of getting away with my little family. I was also, however, looking forward to this wedding because, although I had never met Chris or Aniela prior to their wedding day, I could just tell that I was going to love them just from emailing with Aniela and creeping on her Facebook page =) Little did I know that I would actually find myself plotting ways to be her new best friend within only a few minutes of meeting her. I haven’t worked out all of the logistics yet, but I’ve set my mind to it.
If you’re not familiar with where Egmont is, you basically take a ferry from Northern Vancouver to Langdale, then drive for approx 1.5 hours along the Sunshine Coast on one of the most winding, nauseating roads with spectacular views that you could ever imagine. You eventually find yourself passing through an area with turtle crossing signs, then swing a left out onto a dirt road. It is out there that you find the West Coast Wilderness Lodge, which was the fabulous location for Chris & Aniela’s wedding weekend. Aniela’s father has been going there for years and years for the May long weekend, and then it turned into a family trip, and then for the last few years, Chris has joined them as well. Needless to say, the place holds a lot of significance. Their day was warm, sunny, and full of an overwhelming sense of excitement and happiness. Every aspect of that day was stunning, and I consider myself extremely fortunate to have been asked to go all that way to be a part of it.
I have a LOT of images to share, so here we go…
