Booking Sessions [ June-November 2011 ]

So, this is rather overdue, but I wanted to give a little bit of a heads up of how things are going to go this summer and fall in terms of availability.  Life with two young kids, as many of you know, is a big adjustment… but an amazing one that I really don’t want to miss out on.  After much thought and discussion with my husband about how much I feel that I can take on, I’ve come to the conclusion that I just really want to be around as much as possible to hang out with my two favourite little people. (and Dave too, of course!)  SO, that means some changes!  Not only do I have another child, but I will also be working without my beloved office assistant this year.  All things considered, I’ve chosen to cut way back on the amount of wedding bookings for this year, but I also will be doing the same for portrait sessions.  Here is a little overview of things are going to work…

  • Weekends are for booked weddings and family time.
  • I will have childcare only two days a week, Tuesday & Wednesday, which is when I’ll be booking sessions.
  • That also means that on Tuesdays & Wednesdays I will be working like mad to do my editing and album designs as well… leaving time for only 2-3 sessions each week.
  • I have session times available in the afternoon & evening, with the occasional morning session which is generally ideal for young children.
  • Viewing appointments will be done on the Monday afternoon or evening the week following your session.

So, since things are running fairly tight this year in terms of availability and scheduling options, I would really recommend that you get in touch asap to book your session.  Here’s how things are looking so far…

  • June is fully booked.
  • Only 4 spots left in July
  • 9 spots left in August
  • September & October are already filling in as well

The best way to get in touch is definitely via email, either by writing to info@heatherwilkinson.ca, or by using the contact form on this site.  I often am not able to get some peace & quiet until after the kids go to bed, so this is often when I will reply to emails.  It’s hard for me to return calls during the day as it seems to be an invitation for both kids to simultaneously start crying and demanding my attention…. and you just don’t want to hear that,  I promise!

Ok then, I think that pretty much covers it.  I hope to hear from you soon!

Engaged: Sean & Christina

This is about to get a little embarrassing…. but here we go…

The year was 1997.  I was in grade 8, and he was in grade 12.  I was an obnoxious 14 year old cheerleader in the hideous stages of early adolescence…. and he was a dreamy star player on the senior boys basketball team.  Me, and almost every other girl in school, were in loooove with Sean.  Naturally, the year came to an end and he moved on to university in the fall.  It was there, in his second year of university 10 years ago, that he met Christina and their story began.  As for me, fortunately, I was able to move on to lead a very happy and fulfilling life.

Fast-forward to now.  Sean & Christina are (finally!) getting married in a few weeks and I’m completely excited to have been asked to photograph their day.  I had a great time with them the other evening during their engagement session.  They are a truly adorable and happy couple and all that love between them made my job soooo easy!

Christina, since she’s just so fun, brought along some balloons for a little flair.  And then just moments into the session, they exploded.  So sad.
